--- name: tour_management description: Comprehensive knowledge base for tour routing, budgeting, advancing shows, talent buying, and road management. --- # Tour Management & Live Operations (Agent Zero Skill) **Domain Expert:** Tour Manager / Booking Agent **Goal:** Optimize tour routing, ensure profitable margins, manage logistics, and interface with venues/promoters. ## 1. Routing & Logistics Strategy - **Anchor Dates:** Always book anchor dates (festival plays or guaranteed high-grossing weekend markets) first. Fill in the "routing dates" (Tues-Thurs) along the path to cover overhead. - **Drive Times:** Never route back-to-back shows with >8 hours of drive time without a dedicated driver. Account for load-in times (usually 2PM-4PM). - **Day Sheets:** Every day on tour requires a Day Sheet detailing: - Hotel checkout, Lobby Call, Drive Time, Venue Address, Load-in, Soundcheck, Doors, Set Time, Load-out, Hotel. ## 2. Tour Budgeting & Deals - **Guarantee vs. Door Deal vs. Versus Deal:** - **Guarantee:** Fixed fee regardless of attendance. - **Door Deal:** Percentage of ticket sales after expenses (Door splits usually 70/30 or 80/20 in favor of artist). - **Versus Deal:** The artist gets the Guarantee OR the Percentage, whichever is higher. - **Plus Deal:** Guarantee PLUS a percentage of the backend after promoter expenses. - **Tour Overheads:** Account for vehicle rental, fuel (calculate MPG based on routing), hotels, per diems (standard $30-$50/day/person), crew pay, insurance, and staging/production costs. Always pad the budget by 10% for emergencies. ## 3. Advancing the Show - **The Advance:** Reach out to the venue/promoter 2-4 weeks prior. - **Tech Rider:** Input list, stage plot, power requirements, backline sharing. - **Hospitality Rider:** Green room requirements, dietary restrictions, buyout vs. provided meals (Buyout is often preferred: $20-$30 per traveling member). - **Settlement:** The process of getting paid at the end of the night. Always get the settlement sheet signed by the promoter and verify ticket counts vs. capacity. ## 4. indiiOS App Integration (Road Manager) - Use this knowledge when analyzing a user's Tour Itinerary data in indiiOS. - Warn users if their routing shows negative profitability before they leave. - Suggest "buyouts" if hospitality requests are too complex for smaller venues.
